Cook Academy at The Essex Resort & Spa

The Essex, Vermont’s Culinary Resort & Spa looks forward to hosting you for a dynamic, rewarding, and unique culinary experience at Cook Academy.

Our culinary classes and team-building events offer an opportunity for individuals and businesses to strengthen development, reward a project or product completion, or fortify a vendor-client relationship where you can enjoy learning new cooking techniques or honing the skills you already have. Cook Academy offers low-stress, hands-on, out-of-your-chair break from your all-day seminar, meeting, or tour. You’ll work alongside one of our chefs as you prepare a delicious meal using local Vermont ingredients. Classes generally include a three- or four-course meal.

We believe that too many cooks can spoil the broth so we limit class size. Our Chef’s Kitchen classroom is an intimate space for up to 8. The JK Adams classroom has space for up to 12 comfortably. Looking for something for a larger group? Do you like shows such as, “Iron Chef”? We offer our own version, which allows you to compete for glory in a fun and exciting atmosphere.  Learn the intricacies of many International Cuisines or be taught the culinary uniqueness of Vermont.
