C. 1865 French Second Empire Victorian home—residence to four generations of one family over the course of 100 years—available for self-guided and guided tours seasonally, late-May through mid-October.
Rooted in the Victorian and Gilded Age eras, the collection tells the stories of the entrepreneurs, politicians, philanthropists, and creatives who occupied the home, their illustrious and enterprising visitors, and the extended community of hardworking staff and farmers who worked the estate and 800-acre Hall Farm (est. 1779) surrounding.
Public events year-round, including music, theater, art, craft, literary arts, workshops & classes, and entertainment for all ages. The quaint Village of North Bennington is just two blocks away, with a market, coffee shop, and restaurants serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Free onsite parking.
Group Policies & Rates: Reduced rates for groups of 12 or more, with advanced reservations required. 50% down payment to book your self-guided and guided tours. Max group size per docent guide is 12 persons; guided tours for groups over 12 are cycled through the museum at 20-minute intervals, with tours lasting 30 minutes to 1 hour, to tour guides' requests. Grounds and gardens may be seen in 15 minutes to 1 hour, depending on individual interest. Specialty tours available. Remainder of fees may be paid in advance or upon arrival. Total approximate head count due one week prior to arrival. Driver and tour leaders receive free admission. Cancellations receive full refunds with more than two-weeks notice; deposits are non-refundable at two weeks or less.

Motorcoach accessible. Handicap access to the museum's 1st-floor exhibits only, with audio and visual guides available to illustrate the 2nd-floor. Restrooms and onsite parking. Veranda furnishings and picnic tables are available for visitor use. Historic home, carriage barn, playhouse, formal garden, and surrounding 13-acres include stabilized natural ground to grass, and stone and brick pathways, some of which are navigable by manual wheelchairs. Adjacent public gardens and 9+ miles of maintained trails across several hundred acres, best for all-terrain model electrified wheelchairs. Group Amenities: Private afternoon tea service available, to be taken on the veranda or in the carriage barn, includes hot and cold teas and refreshments, and three-course samplings of savories, scones, and sweets included. Specialty tours and educational offerings available.
