Vermont Granite Museum

Located in the former Jones Brothers Company granite manufacturing plant, Vermont Granite Museum offers a unique experience for any group tour. Built in 1895, the 28,000 square foot structure currently houses 50+ exhibits and hands-on activities as well as a Stone Arts Studio where guests have an opportunity to learn about the process of stone sculpting from a working artisan. Ask questions, explore the exhibits, and shop in our museum store.

Group Policies & Rates: Reservations are required for groups of more than 15 and those traveling by motorcoach. Self-guided tours are $7 per person and fully guided tours are $10 per person. An optional Hope Cemetery tour may be added to either the self-guided or fully guided tour for an additional $6 per person. Motorcoach drivers and tour company escorts are complimentary.

Motorcoach Parking Information: Plenty of free parking with drop off and pick up at the door for motorcoach groups.

Dates of Operation: Group tours can be accommodated 7 days a week from May 1 - October 31.

Highlighted Group Experience: Vermont Granite Museum offers self-guided or fully guided tours to groups of more than 15 and those traveling by motorcoach. A docent will greet self-guided group tours, lead them to our auditorium for a brief film on the granite industry, and offer a quick overview of the museum’s layout before allowing guests to explore on their own. A museum educator will escort the 60-minute fully guided group tours through the museum, sharing stories and insights on the granite industry. Fully guided group tours also get an opportunity to spend time learning about granite sculpting from a working sculptor in our Stone Arts Studio. An additional 60-minute tour of nearby Hope Cemetery may be added for those groups wishing to learn about the 65-acre cemetery and see some of the thousands of renowned granite sculptures located there.
