Vermont State House
The Vermont General Assembly welcomes your tour group and invites them to view one of our nation’s oldest and best-preserved state capitols.
After 150 years, the Vermont State House still commands the landscape of Montpelier, the smallest capital city in America. As your group tours the halls and chambers, we hope they will develop a sense of what makes this historic building, and the state for which it was built, so unique.
In addition to guided tours, visitors can self guide with an audio tour accessible by cell phone.
Dates of Operation
Bus tour groups can be accommodated from June through October. Under the Dome Gifts, a gift shop featuring Vermont crafts and products, is open from mid June through October.
Group Policy & Rates
A donation of $2.00 per visitor is suggested. Guided tours are provided with advance notification. For reservations, contact the Sergeant-at-Arms Office at 802-828-2228.
